Two roses, carved as one.
Each petal in Deux Roses was hand cut from aromatic red cedar and shaped to life with careful consideration to the curvature of a real rose petal. The flowing grain of the cedar moves like silk across the surface enhancing the the softness of this design.
Framed in black walnut and a matte black background, I aimed to capture contrast and connection. A quiet harmony of form and feeling. Romantic and grounded.
